Series of events on the Day of Country House Museums
Country House Museum Day 2022
The Association of Country House Museums in Hungary organizes a Day of Country House Museums, a national series of events every year.
The most widely known figure in the tradition of peasantry was St. George, whose holiday is celebrated every year on April 24th.
With their tradition-creating programs on Saturday and Sunday closest to the 24th of April the country house museums call for the attention not only to the former memories of the spring animal herding, but also to the spring renewal, the rebirth of nature and people.
The country house museums adjoining the event are free to visit at most locations across the country. At certain times, the interiour of the buildings will be presented with professional guidance. In many places, traditional folk groups will have performances on site, and you can choose to shop or just browse handcraft products, combined with tasting regional dishes. Join us with your country house as well!
