OUR PARTNERS

The Central Directorate of Country House Museums in Hungary has been operating since 1 April 2017 within the Open-Air Ethnographic Museum, whose main responsibilities include the professional support, coordination and scientific tasks of Hungarian and Hungarian cross-border country houses. Informing and training the maintainers and managers of the country house museums, setting up and operating a network of counselors and mentors is also part of their job.

The main task of the Open-Air Ethnographic Museum is to do research into folk architecture, interiour decoration and way of life, to collect material and intellectual memories in the Hungarian language area, to preserve and display this heritage. By presenting customs, it helps to better understand folk traditions and make them usable even today.

The main task of the Pulszky Society-Hungarian Museum Association is to preserve and enhance the recognition of museums in the society. It is an initiator and reviewer of museum developments. Its online journal is Hungarian Museums Online.

Educational and Methodology Centre of Museums is operated as one of the directorates of the Skanzen. Their aim is that museums, as one of the most important out-of-school educational venues, gain a worthy place in public education. Trainings are organized, a network of coordinators is operated, and downloadable specialist materials are offered by the centre.
